Austria to measure TV ratings via HbbTV

The AGTT, which measures TV and video usage in Austria, will upgrade its system with HbbTV-based data collection from 1 September 2024.

AGTT, which stands for Arbeitsgemeinschaft Teletest, is a consortium responsible for measuring and analysing television viewership ratings in Austria. AGTT was established by major Austrian broadcasters to standardise and oversee the process of television audience measurement in the country.

AGTT operates the Teletest system, which is the official method for measuring TV ratings in Austria. This system uses a traditional panel for audience measurement, that is a representative sample of households equipped with special devices to record viewing habits, which are then used to compile viewership data.

The system is being updated to also include data from 1.1 million HbbTV devices.
