10-Year Anniversary Website: HbbTV opens Treasure Chamber

Geneva, August 14, 2020 – The HbbTV Association, a global initiative dedicated to providing open standards for the delivery of advanced interactive TV services through broadcast and broadband networks for connected TV sets and set-top boxes, is celebrating its 10-year anniversary with a special website giving an unprecedented insight into the development of HbbTV, challenges and milestones.

The microsite, accessible from the HbbTV website (www.hbbtv.org) or directly by clicking on www.hbbtv.org/10-year-hbbtv-anniversary-special, offers historic material such as videos, images, presentations and press articles dating back to the very beginnings of establishing an open industry standard for interactive services enriching the TV experience more than 10 years ago.

A timeline shows key steps of this joint effort by European market players while eyewitnesses describe the journey with exclusive quotes focussing on the creation, development and prospects of HbbTV in today’s media landscape.
