Summary of topic:
HbbTV has long avoided placing performance requirements on receivers, leaving that to the few strong logo platforms that can enforce them. However, TA represents a blurring of this boundary. Is it time it revisited this more broadly?
Session goals:
Understand the challenges – technical and non technical – with putting performance requirements into a specification like HbbTV and why they have always been in the domain of logo programmes.
Understand the challenges in testing performance and robustness, and why they make such tests a challenge in conformance programmes.
