The future of HbbTV device conformance testing and potential role for reference apps

Summary of topic:
This collaborative session will explore the challenges of current approaches to HbbTV device conformance testing and explore potential future approaches which may address these issues
Session goals:
- Identify common issues observed in testing device and app compatibility
- Consider how reference test apps are being used in some markets to assist in this process
- Highlight some of the limitations in current approaches (including market specific reference apps)
- Gather views from the widest possible range of stakeholders as to whether greater use of reference test apps or new types of reference test apps would be helpful in addressing current challenges
The ambition is to use this session to confirm if there is a consensus view from participants as to whether it would be helpful to initiate an HbbTV Study Mission Group to further investigate the potential future role for reference test apps
