The 12th HbbTV Symposium and Awards on 14-15 November 2024 in London, UK, will provide a unique platform to present and discuss the latest developments in the connected TV industry.
The annual key industry summit, targeting platform operators, broadcasters, advertisers and adtechs, standards organisations and technology companies, will be co-hosted with Everyone TV. The joint venture owned and supported by the UK’s leading public service broadcasters BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and Channel 5 operates the free-TV platforms Freeview and Freesat.
Following the successful introduction of the new concept last year, the HbbTV Symposium will again consist of a traditional conference with keynotes, panels and roundtables on the first day. The second day will feature an unconference at which participants decide about the agenda, topics and discussions, actively shaping and driving the sessions and conclusions. Material related to the second day is made available in the Unconference Hub.
The event will also host the 7th edition of the HbbTV Awards, featuring a wide range of categories designed to acclaim best practice and excellence in the HbbTV community. The prices will be awarded at a glamorous ceremony in the evening of the first Symposium day.

The HbbTV Symposium and Awards 2024 will take place at Church House, a prestigious event and conference venue in the heart of Westminster, central London. The historical building, dating back to 1887, will provide an excellent and inspiring location for delegates, sponsors, exhibitors and networking.
Top-level executives of the international connected TV industry will provide exclusive, first-hand insights into the latest industry developments, discussing new services, experiences and challenges with a focus on specifications, interoperability, standards regimes and regulation. Topics include consumer-facing services and innovations in HbbTV markets, the HbbTV Operator Application, Targeted Advertising including watermarks for set-top box markets, the HbbTV Test Suite and Interoperability, DVB-I and linear (live) IP channels and the impact of AI on business models in the TV market.

Eoghan O’Sullivan
Eoghan O’Sullivan is a communications consultant and facilitator, working with DVB, EBU and others on content, events and community engagement. Following his debut at the first HbbTV conference in 2023, Eoghan will again moderate the unconference this year and also co-moderate the 2024 Symposium.
